This show was freaking awesome, it was funny, had great characters, wonderful dialouge and was way too good for TV. Bender, Fry, Leela, Hermes, Zoidberg, all of these characters are well thought out and work incredibly well together.

Escape from L.A. is a great movie, perhaps even Carpenter's best, and Kurt Russel makes Snake Plissken ten times more macho. Escape from N.Y. had a darker atmosphere but L.A. fits it's atmosphere as more light and campy.
This sci fi action movie starred pro wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper. Like most Carpenter films, it's artistic, fun, and intelligent. The film's best line from Piper is "I have came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and i'm all out of bubble gum".
